CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 96-124
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
SUBMIT TO THE U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS A LETTER OF
INTENT TO SHARE THE COST OF A FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR
EASTWARD EXPANSION OF THE SMALL BOAT HARBOR
WHEREAS, the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers is preparing its reconnaissance report to
its headquarters in Washington, D. C. for approval to move forward with the feasibility study, design
and permitting stage of the eastward expansion of the Seward Small Boat Harbor; and
WHEREAS, this reconnaissance report must contain a letter from the City of its intent to
share equally in the cost of planning for this project; and
WHEREAS, it is the City's intent to seek state funding for all or a portion ofthe City's share
of the planning process;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to submit to the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers
a letter of the City's intent to share equally in the cost of a feasibility study for the eastward
expansion of the Seward Small Boat Harbor.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 23rd
day of September, 1996.
