CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 91-153
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING A REVISED BUDGET
FOR THE PRUITT ARBITRATION AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the sum of $20,000 was originally budgeted for the
legal fees arising from a request from Jim Pruitt to arbitrate a
dispute under the Seward Ships Chandlery lease of property at the
Seward Marine Industrial Center; and
WHEREAS, it is now apparent that additional funds will be
required to cover all legal related costs including the costs of
expert witnesses; and
WHEREAS, since the tariff dispute comprises a portion of the
arbitration and is related to the syncrolift, it is recommended
that the Council appropriate the sum of $80,000 to be split
equally between the Syncrolift Legal Account and the General Fund
Legal Account;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of $40,000 is hereby appropriated from the
General Fund-Fund Balance Account to the General Fund Legal
Account, and the sum of $40,000 is appropriated from the Harbor
Fund-Fund Balance Account to the Syncrolift Legal Account.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 9th day of December, 1991.
