CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 96-127
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING PURCHASE ORDERS AND
AUTHORIZATIONS FOR THE RELOCATION OF UTILITIES ON
HOSPITAL PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the lease agreement between the City and Providence requires the City to
remove and/or relocate utilities on or adjacent to the property at City expense in order to provide a
clean site for facilities construction; and
WHEREAS, General Telephone (GTE), Seward Cablevision (Cablevision) and the City's
electrical utility all own facilities which cross the site; and
WHEREAS, GTE has agreed to relocate its facilities for an estimated price of$32,348.85;
and
WHEREAS, Cablevision has estimated its relocation costs to be approximately $13,000;
and
WHEREAS, the City Electric Department estimates its costs of relocation to be $35,387;
and
WHEREAS, the relocation of the facilities noted above are not subject to competitive
bidding; and
WHEREAS, funding for the relocation of the utilities is available III the hospital
construction budget approved by the City Council on September 9,1996;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to issue a purchase order not to exceed
$32,348.85 to General Telephone to relocate its facilities at the hospital site.
Section 2. The City Manager is further authorized to issue a purchase order not to exceed
$13,000 to Seward Cablevision to relocate its facilities at the hospital site.
Section 3. The City Electric Department is authorized to expend not to exceed $35,387 to
relocate its facilities at the hospital site.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
