RESOLUTION NO. 98-002
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING THE FY 1998 ELECTIONS
BUDGET AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the City Council budgeted $3,500 for elections for fiscal year 1998; and
WHEREAS, for fiscal year 1998, there have already been two elections, one of which was
unbudgeted; and
WHEREAS, the total cost for the July 15, 1997 special election and the October 7, 1997
regular elections amounted to approximately $6,000; and
WHEREAS, these two elections have caused a shortage of approximately $2,500 in the
current elections budget; and
WHEREAS, the filing of a sufficient referendum petition has necessitated the calling of
another unbudgeted special election on January 20, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the cost for this special election is estimated to be $2,500;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of $5,000 is hereby appropriated from the General Fund-Fund Balance
Account No. 101-3050 to the City Clerk's Election Budget Account No. 101-1130-5720, and the FY
1998 general fund budget is amended accordingly.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 12th
day of January, 1998.
