CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 98-016
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH DRYDEN AND LARUE
TO DESIGN A 25KV, THREE PHASE, UNDERGROUND TIE BETWEEN
THE NORTH AND SOUTH SIDES OF SNOW RIVER FOR AN AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED $12,000
WHEREAS, during the construction of the Transmission Line, a 25 kv distribution system
was added to the T-Line poles from Lawing to the North side of Snow River; and
WHEREAS, the 25 kv line was built on the T-line poles to the South side of Snow River
in the previous phase of construction, and this allowed the City to eliminate the need for two 69/25
kv transformers between Lawing and Primrose; and
WHEREAS, the City did not install the underground 25 kv distribution line between the
North and South sides of Snow River; and
WHEREAS, the anticipated cost for Dryden and LaRue to complete the design of an
underground system across the Snow River Bridge is approximately $10,000, but since it may
exceed this amount approval of the Council is requested; and
WHEREAS, Dryden and LaRue have been the engineers on the entire T-Line project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council approve Resolution No. 98-016, approving an agreement with
Dryden and LaRue to design a 25 kv, three phase, underground tie between the north and south sides
of Snow River at a cost not to exceed $12,000.

Section 2. Funding for this project shall be from Transmission Line Account 208-2080-
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
