CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 98-020
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AMENDING THE SNOW PLOWING & SANDING SERVICES
CONTRACT WITH METCO, INC. TO INCREASE THE CONTRACT TO
ENSURE COVERAGE FOR THE REST OF THE 1997-98 SEASON AND
APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, Metco, Inc. was awarded a contract for an amount not to exceed of$28,000
to perform plowing and sanding of Nash Road, Lowell Point Road and on-call services; and
WHEREAS, although the City of Seward's plowing and sanding needs were light until
February and March, the recent freezing rains and heavy snows of these past months have depleted
the budget; and
WHEREAS, there is now a need to increase the contract amount by $10,000 to ensure
coverage for the rest of the season;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council approve Resolution No. 98-020, authorizing the transfer of
$10,000 from the General Fund Balance, Account No. 101-3070, to Street, Snow and Ice Control,
Contract Services, Account No. 101-1314-5390, and increasing Metco's contract.
Section 2. The money approved by this resolution shall be equally allocated to the Nash
Road, Lowell Point Road and on-call services.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 23rd
day of March, 1998.
