CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 98-028
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING AN EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT WITH W.
SCOTT JANKE FOR CITY MANAGER SERVICES
WHEREAS, former City Manager Ronald Garzini resigned September, 1997; and
WHEREAS, the Council has conducted numerous work sessions and meetings for the past
six months in order to recruit a new city manager; and
WHEREAS, the Council met in regular session on Monday, March 23, 1998, and voted to
negotiate for city manager services with W. Scott Janke; and
WHEREAS, negotiations have been completed and Mr. Janke has accepted the City's offer
of employment beginning May 1, 1998 for an annual salary of$75,OOO;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The employment agreement between the City of Seward and W. Scott Janke,
attached and incorporated herein by reference, to provide city manager services to the City for a three
year period beginning May 1, 1998, is hereby APPROVED.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 31 day
of March, 1998.
