CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 98-029
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, EXTENDING A CONTRACTING FOR ONE ADDITIONAL
YEAR WITH MERRITT ENTERPRISES FOR CUSTODIAL SERVICES
AT THE ALASKA VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL AND EDUCATIONAL
CENTER STUDENT SERVICES BUILDING AND THE TEEN AND
YOUTH CENTER
WHEREAS, the City of Seward properly advertised a request for bids to provide
custodial services at the Alaska Vocational Technical and Educational Center (A VTEC) Student
Services Building and at the Teen and Youth Center; and
WHEREAS, Judy Merritt, d.b.a., Merritt Enterprises, submitted the low bid and was
awarded a one year contract with the passage of Resolution No. 97-029; and
WHEREAS, Merritt Enterprises has provided quality custodial services this past year
and the Administration recommends a one year extension oftheir contract;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to extend a contract, until June 30,
1999, with Merritt Enterprises to provide custodial services at the Alaska Vocational Technical
and Educational Center Student Services Building and the Teen and Youth Center.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
13th day of April, 1998.
