RESOLUTION NO. 98-034

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
\ ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
\
~URCHASE AGREEMENT FOR A DIGGER/DERRICK FROM PACIFIC
U~ITY EQUIPMENT COMPANY FOR A PRICE NOT TO EXCEED

WHEREAS, "~ePtember 1997 the City of Seward received bids for a DiggerIDerrick
Truck for the Electric Depa ment; and
WHEREAS, the City 0 eward currently has a 1983 Ford DiggerIDerrick, D900 Altec,
which has been in need of replace ent for several years but has been deferred in favor of other
projects which the Council deemed m e important; and
WHEREAS, there is still a need fo his vehicle replacement; and

WHEREAS, the anticipated budgeted p . ce was $180,000, but the actual bid meeting the
specifications received from Pacific Utility Equip nt Company was for $228,629; and
WHEREAS, financing for this vehicle can co from the Electric Department Retained
Earnings Account and the cost shared between the FY 98 d FY 99 budgets; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council approve Resolution 98-034, autho . ing the City Manager to
enter a contract to purchase a DiggerIDerrick from Pacific Utility Equipme t Company for a price
not to exceed $228,629 and financing is to be from the Electric Departme Retained Earnings
Account 501-0000-3050.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska,
day of April, 1998.
