A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SE\v.
ALASKA, APPROVING CITY COUNCILMEMBERPATRICKC AHAN
TO BE EMPLOYED BY THE CITY OF SEWARD AS A F L TIME,
SUMMER SEASONAL EMPLOYEE FOR THE SEWA PARKS &
RECREATION DEPARTMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH WARD CITY
CHARTER 2.3
WHEREAS, Councilmember Patrick Callahan has be employed as a full time, summer
seasonal employee with the City of Seward Parks & Recre on Department since 1991; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Callahan was ele d to the City Council in October 1997; and
WHEREAS, prior to being sworn in as a uncilmember, Mr. Callahan resigned from his
position as Park Attendant II; and
WHEREAS, the Park Attendant II sition is a temporary seasonal summer job which has
no health or retirement benefits and pays 9.34/hr; and
WHEREAS, Councilmembe Callahan has enjoyed his city employment with the Parks &
Recreation Department; and

Section 1/ The City Council hereby approves Resolution 98-039, allowing Councilmember
Patrick Callah:;i1, in accordance with Seward City Charter 92.3, to be employed by the City of
Seward in th7position of Park Attendant II.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 20th
of April, 1998.
