CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 98-047
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT NO.5 WITH THE STATE OF ALASKA
PUBLIC EMPLOYEE'S RETIREMENT SYSTEM TO EXCLUDE THE
POSITION OF CITY MANAGER FROM PARTICIPATION IN PERS
EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 1998
WHEREAS, the City's retirement plan is the State of Alaska Public Employees Retirement
System (PERS); and
WHEREAS, it is possible to exclude various employee classifications from PERS; and
WHEREAS, incoming City Manager Scott Janke has requested to amend his employment
agreement to remove him from participation in the City's retirement plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council would like to accommodate Scott Janke and exclude the
position of City Manager from participation in PERS effective May 1,1998;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council hereby approves Resolution No. 98-047, excluding the position
of City Manager from participation in PERS effective May 1, 1998.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 27th
day of April, 1998.
