CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 98-055
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 1998 BUDGET BY REDUCING
BUDGETED GENERAL FUND REVENUES BY $154,574, REVERSING
$40,000 IN BUDGETED TRANSFERS-IN TO THE GENERAL FUND AND
REDUCING BUDGETED GENERAL FUND EXPENDITURES BY $194,574
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 1998 budget was premised on the implementation of a 1 %
seasonal sales tax and a 1 % reduction in bed tax revenues; and
WHEREAS, the FY98 budget also included certain expenditures to be funded by the
additional tax revenues; and
WHEREAS, the seasonal sales tax increase (and corresponding bed tax decrease) were
repealed by a referendum vote; and
and
WHEREAS, in response to the referendum vote it is necessary to modify the FY 98 budget;
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends the following adjustments to the FY98 budget
as outlined in Section 2, below;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council hereby approves Resolution 98-055, amending the FY 98
budget.
Section 2. The following amendments are hereby approved for the FY98 budget:
1)
Adjust tax revenues as follows:
Reduce seasonal sales tax
Increase bed tax

2) Eliminate transfers to the General Fund to fund marketing and the purchase of a
computer network:
Harbor transfer to General Fund for marketing
Harbor transfer to General Fund for computer network
Electric transfer to General Fund for marketing

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
