RESOLUTION NO. 98-077
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND THE
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH PETERSON CONSUL T-
ING GROUP, INC.
WHEREAS, on August 26, 1996, the City Council approved a Professional Services
Agreement with Peterson Consulting Group, Inc. for $34,550 to provide consulting services to the
City of Seward in regard to wholesale power contract negotiations with Chugach Electric
Association; and
WHEREAS, over the next year and one-half, Mr. Peterson did provide such services which
resulted in a new and less costly wholesale electric power agreement with CEA; and
WHEREAS, although the contract was completed within the approved amount of $34,550,
the subsequent approval process through the Alaska Public Utilities Commission is requiring
additional consulting time from Mr. Peterson; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that the authorized amount of $34,550 be increased to
$49,550 (an increase of$15,000) to pay for Mr. Peterson's additional time:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council hereby approves Resolution 98-077, authorizing the City
Manager to extend the Professional Services Agreement with Peterson Consulting Group, Inc. to
provide additional professional services to the City of Seward for our wholesale power purchase
contract with CEA for an amount not-to-exceed $15,000 for a new contractual amount of$49,550.
Section 2. The funding for this contract amendment shall come from account 501-5410-
5390.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe city of Seward, Alaska, this 8th day
of June, 1998.
