CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 98-84
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO TRANSFER
$1,500.50 FROM THE GENERAL FUND BALANCE TO THE TEEN &
YOUTH OPERATING EXPENSES ACCOUNT.
WHEREAS, due to the construction of the Alaska Sea Life Center, in 1995 the Council
appropriated $182,600 to relocate the Teen & Youth Center Program to the Community Center; and
WHEREAS, the Community Center Renovations project included items which would
relocate the Teen & Youth Center programs to the first level of the Community Center and relocate
the Senior Citizens' craft programs to the third level; and
WHEREAS, the bulk ofthese funds were paid to Swenson Construction for remodeling and
to various vendors for Teen & Youth Center equipment and furniture; and
WHEREAS, it is proposed that the remaining balance of $1,500.50 be applied to the recent
purchase of a surveillance system and some dance equipment which were bought through the regular
Teen and Youth Center program's budget from a local vendor; and
WHEREAS, the Council may appropriate the $1,500.50, which will close this account;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council hereby approves Resolution 98-084, authorizing the City
Manager to transfer $1,500.50 from the General Fund fund balance designated for Community Center
Renovations account no. 101-0000-3041 to Teen and Youth Center operating expenses, account no.
101-1430-5440.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 22nd
day of June, 1998.
