ORDINANCE NO. 456
AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO DOGS,
AMENDING CITY CODE SECTIONS
4-10, 4,24 AND 4-35
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA ORDAINS:
Section 1.

Section 4-10 of the Seward City Code
follows:

License fees -- Dogs.

There is hereby levied an annual liCense fee of $5.00
for all dogs owned or harbored within the City. Any person owning
or harboring any dog within the City shall pay such license fee. The
license fee shall be due and payable on the first day of July of each
year. Any person who fails or neglects to pay the license fee on or
before the first day of August of each year, as the license fee be-
comes due, shall be deemed delinquent under the foregoing provision
and shall pay 100 percent penalty in addition to the prescribed li-
cense fee for the license. Any person who comes into ownership or
commences to harbor a dog within the City after the first day of
July of each year shall, within 30 days after such time, obtain a
license as herein provided for the remainder of the license year, ~n
the full amount as provided in this section.

All dogs shall be Wept under restraint either by a
leash or by being kept in an enclosure; a dog shall be considered to
run at large if it is not restrained by a leash or enclosure.
~~~~i~~_l. Section 4-35 of the Seward City Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:

The City shall collect a $25.00 pound fee, plus $2.50 per
day for feeding each dog so impounded, plus any license fees due ac-
cording to the provisions of Section 4-10. The pound fee shall be
$50.00 for the second impoundment of the dog within a calendar year
under the provisions of this article; the pound fee shall be $100.00
for the third such impoundment within a calendar year.
