CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
ORDINANCE NO. 463
AN ORDINANCE REGARDING THE CITY BUDGET AND TAX RATE,
AMENDING CITY CODE SECTION 10-2
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ORDAINS:
Section 1. Section 10-2 of the Seward City Code of Ordinances
is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 10-2. Budget--Submission; contents
During or prior to the third week in May, the city manager
shall present to the council a budget proposal for the next
fiscal year of the city. Such budget proposal shall set
forth the city manager's recommended tax rate based on an
analysis of the anticipated income and expenditures of the
city during the next fiscal year. The proposed expenditures
set forth in the budget proposal shall not exceed the
expected revenues of the city. Unencumbered funds remaining
at the end of the current fiscal year may be reallocated for
purposes set forth in the budget proposal. The council shall
by June 15 of each year present to the borough assembly a
statement of the city's rate of levy, unless a different
date is agreed upon by the borough and city.
Section 2. This ordinance takes effect 10 days after enactment.
ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this
14th day of August, 1978.
