HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd1999-007 I I I Sponsored by: Reilly Introduction Date: May 10, 1999 Public Hearing Date: May 24, 1999 Enactment date: Mav 24, 1999 CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA ORDINANCE NO. 99-07 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEWARD CITY CODE, TO NO LONGER REQUIRE THE CITY CLERK'S OFFICE TO PURCHASE THREE COPIES OF: (1) UNIFORM FIRE CODE, (2) UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, (3) DANGEROUS BUILDING CODE, (4) UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, (6) UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, (7) NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, AND (8) UNIFORM SIGN CODE WHEREAS, the city clerk's office is presently required to keep three copies of each uniform code book; and WHEREAS, this requirement was enacted prior to the City of Seward owning the library, which keeps at least one copy ofthe designated edition ofthe uniform code books for public use, inspection and examination; and WHEREAS, various city departments keep copies of code books pertaining to their field of work; and WHEREAS, there is no longer a need for the clerk's office to keep copies of the uniform code books; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEW ARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The following sections of Seward City Code, Chapter 9.15, Fire Prevention and Chapter 12.05, Codes of Technical Regulations, are hereby amended as follows: 9.15.110 Uniform Fire Code adopted. C. The City of Seward shall possess three copies of the city designated edition of the Uniform Fire Code, for public use, inspection and examination. (Ord. 501, 1981; Ord. 511, S 7, 1982; Ord. 554, S 7, 1986; Ord. 598, 1987; Ord. 630, 1990; Ord. 93-04; Ord. 97-03) 12.05.010 Uniform Building Code adopted. B. The City of Seward shall possess three copies of the city designated edition of the Uniform Building Code, for public use, inspection and examination, so long as the provisions CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA ORDINANCE NO. 99-07 thereof remain in force. 12.05.015 Dangerous Building Code adopted. B. The City of Seward shall possess three copies of the city designated edition of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, as recommended and approved by the International Conference of Building Officials of Whittier, California, for public use, inspection and examination, so long as the provisions thereof remain in force. The City of Seward shall possess three copies of the city designated edition of the Uniform Housing Code, for public use, inspection and examination. 12.05.025 Uniform Plumbing Code adopted. B. The City of Seward shall possess three copies of the city designated edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code, for public use, inspection and examination. 12.05.030 Uniform Mechanical Code adopted. B. The City of Seward shall possess three copies of the city designated edition of the Uniform Mechanical Code, for public use, inspection and examination, so long as the provisions thereof remain in force. 12.05.035 National Electrical Code adopted. B. The City of Seward shall possess three copies ofthe city designated edition of the National Electrical Code, for public use, inspection and examination. 12.05.040 Uniform Sign Code adopted. B. The City of Seward shall possess three copies of the city designated edition of the Uniform Sign Code, for public use, inspection and examination. Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days after enactment.
