ORDINANCE NO. ~ <(
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, REPEALING AND RE-ENACTING
CHAPTER 10, SECTION 10.8. OF THE SEWARD
CITY CODE RELATIVE TO BID PROCEDURE
The City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska ordains that:
Section 1. Chapter 10.8. (c) of the Seward 'city Code is
hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as follows:
Sec. 10-8. Bid procedure. (c) All b~as shall
be placed in a sealed envelope and deliv,red to the
city clerk, and opened by the city ~ap;er, or a
person designated by him, in public, a the time and
place designated in the notice invi ing bids. The
contract shall be let by the cit council to the
lowest qualified, responsive and esponsible bidder,
provided that, if the lowest bids are approximately
equal, that is, within the l~ser of five thousand
/
dollars or five percent of / each other, preference
may be given to local dders who maintain and
operate businesses wit n the boundaries of the
city. The city counci may reject any or all bids
and may waive minor i egularities in the bids.
