ORDINANCE NO. 533
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING CHAPTER 20 OF THE SEWARD
CITY CODE RELATIVE TO VEHICLES FOR HIRE BY EXEMPTING
VEHICLES REGULATED BY THE STATE
WHEREAS, certain vehicles for hire are regulated by State law;
and
WHEREAS, City regulation of such vehicles would be a duplica-
tion of effort by the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Sect.ion 1. Section 20-1 of the Seward City Code is hereby
repealed and re-enacted to read as follows:
See 20-1 Definition and Scope. (a) For the purposes of this
chapter, a vehicle for hire is defined as any chauffeur-driven
vehicle hired for the transport of passengers. (b) This
chapter shall not. apply to any vehicle for hire which is
regulated by the Stat.e of Alaska.
Section 2. This ordinance takes effect. ten (10) days follow-
ing enactment.
ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA,
