ORDINANCE NO. 536
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING SECTION 15-18 OF THE SEWARD
CITY CODE RELATIVE TO THE POSSESSION AND DISCHARGE OF
FIREWORKS

WHEREAS, the discharge of fireworks within the C~ represents
a danger to life and property of the citizens of seward;~d
WHEREAS, present code provisions do not ohibit the pos-
session of fireworks within the City; and
WHEREAS, present code provisions do no specify a mandatory
fine for infractions cited under Section 15-18 0 the City Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY
ALASKA, HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. Section 15-18 of
repealed and re-enacted to read as foIl
Sec. 15-18.
THE CITY OF SEWARD,
is hereby
e of Fireworks
(a) No possess, barter, sell,
exchange or give away, or set off, fire or explode,
or cause to be fired or exploded, any
firecracker, sky r ket, pin wheel, fusee, Roman
candle, bomb or y pyrotechnical contrivance or
apparatus of any escription within the City without
prior approval the City Council.
(b) The penalty for conviction of violation of
the provisi ns of subsection (a) of this section
shall be fine in the amount of $50 for the first
offense d a fine in the amount of $100 for the
second d any successive offensives in any 12-month
period

2. This ordinance shall take effect 10 days following
ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA,
this 27th day of March , 1985
