ORDINANCE NO. 553
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING SECTION 2-60 THROUGH 2-63 OF THE
SEWARD CITY CODE RELATIVE 'IO THE TRADE AND COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, HEREBY ORDAINS
that:
Section 1. Section 2-60 (a) of the Seward City Code is hereby
arrended to read as follON's:
Sec. 2-60. Established. (a) A Trade and
Cormerce Advisory Board is hereby created consisting
of seven residents of the City of Seward or sur-
rounding areas who shall be appointed by the Mayor
and confirrred by the City Council. No officer or
errployee of the City may be appointed a rrember of
the board.
Section 2. Section 2-60 (c) of the Seward City Code is hereby
amended by substituting the word "board" for the word "corrmission"
throughout.
Section 3. Section 2-61 (a) of the Seward City Code is hereby
amended to read as follON's:
Sec. 2-61. Terms of office--Filling vacancy in
office. (a) MerOOers of the Trade and Corrmerce
Advisory Board shall be appointed for a te:rm of
three (3) years, provided that the terms of initial
appointITents shall be staggered so that as nearly as
possible a pro rata number of nerrbers shall be
appointed each year.
Section 4. Section 2-62(b) of the Seward City Code is hereby
amended by substituting the word "four" for the word "three" in the
first sentence.
Section 5. Section 2-63 of the Seward City Code is hereby
amended by substituting the phrase "Trade and Corrmerce Advisory Board"
for the phrase "International Trade and Industry Developrent Advisory
Board" throughout.
Section 6. Section 2-63 (g) of the Seward City Code is hereby
deleted and Subsections (h) and (i) of Section 2-63 are hereby renum-
bered as Subsections (g) and (h).
Section 7. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days
following enactrrent.
