ORDINANCE NO. 566
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCTI., OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING SECI'ICN 2-11 OF THE SEWARD CITY
CODE TO CONFORM WITH AS 29.20.010 - CONFLIcr OF INTEREST
THE CITY CCUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, HEREBY ORDAINS
that:
Section 1. Section 2-11 (c) of the Seward City Code is hereby
arrended to read as follows:
(c) No rrember of the city conncil nay vote on
any question in which the rrember has a direct or
indirect substantial financial interest. Direct or
indirect financial interest shall be disclosed to
the presiding officer prior to the vote on the
question for a ruling on a request fran the rrernber
with the financial interest to be excused from the
vote. The decision of the presiding officer on a
request by a rrernber of the city council to be
excused from a vote nay be overridden by the najori-
ty vote of the conncil. If there are not at least
four conncilrrernbers in attendance who are qualified
to vote, the natter shall be tabled nntil the next
regular or special rreeting at which four conncilJrem-
bers qualified to vote on the natter are in atten-
dance.
Section 2. The Seward City Code is hereby arrended by creating
a new Section 2-11 (d) to read as follows:
(d) A municipal employee or official, other
than a rrember of the city conncil nay not
participate in an official action in which the
employee or official has a substantial financial
interest.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days
following enact:rrent.
