Sponsored by: Schaefermever CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA ORDINANCE NO. 601 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING THE CITY CODE BY G STANDARDS FOR VEHICLE WINDSHIELDS AND WIPERS during the c:J:~~e~ ~e?c~A 't5(j ometimes stop a vehicle; and ~~ ~ WHEREAS, vehicle stop is potentially hazardous; and b ~ WHEREAS, if e officer is unable to observe activities OJ/"/y/,_ within the vehicle the potential hazard to the officer is ~ greatly increased; d WHEREAS, darkly tinted windshields and windows also reduce the driver's v~ ibility, thus creating a danger to other users of the road y; and WHEREAS, any other terial, sign or substance which obstructs the visibility 0 the operator of the vehicle or anyone approaching the vehic e creates a potential danger or hazard; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY C UNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, HEREBY ORDAINS that: Section 1. Section 14-127 0 hereby repealed and re-enacted to r the Seward City Code is d as follows: Sec.14-127. Windshields and wi e (a) No person may drive an motor vehicle wi th any sign, poster, non-transpa ent material, any dark, shaded or reflective co ting, or an accumulation of snow, ice or frost up n the front windshield, side wings, or side or rear windows of such vehicle which materially obstructs obscures or impairs the driver's clear view of t e street or any intersecting street, or materia ly ob- structs or impairs other drivers, pedestri s, or police officers from making ready norma eye contact with the driver of such vehicle. (b) Every motor vehicle shall be equip wi th a windshie ld, which shall be equipped wi devices for cleaning rain, snow, or other moistur from both sides of the windshield, which devices -1- . . . ALASKA 601 sh 11 be so constructed as to be controlled or ope ated by the driver of the vehicle and main- tain d in good working order. If the windshield is d igned so as to be removable, the windshield shall e in place whenever the vehicle is operated upon t e roadways. Section This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following enactment. Sponsored by: Schaefermeyer CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA ORDINANCE NO. 601 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING SECTION 21-38 OF THE CITY CODE REGULATING THE OPENING AND CLOSING OF PUBLIC CAMPGROUNDS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, HEREBY ORDAINS that: Section 1. Section 21-38 of the Seward City Code is hereby amended by adding the following new subsection (b) to read as follows: (b) Camping in designated public campgrounds shall be allowed between May 15 and September 30. Except for those areas opened for camping by resolution of council, all public campgrounds shall be closed to camping beginning October 1, through May 14, annually. Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following enactment.
