WHEREAS, the Seward Community Hospit
enactment of Ordinance No. 552 on Decembe

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY CO CIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. Seward City: Code ~ 2.30.110, Subsection A., is
hereby amended to read as flows:
2.30.110 Establ shed. A. There is hereby created
a community hospital oard consisting of eight residents
of the city of Sewa d or the East Peninsula road service
area and one memb r of the City Council who shall be
nominated by the yor and confirmed by the city council.
No employee or officer of the city whose terms and
conditions of e loyment are established by the community
hospital board may serve as a member of that board.
Section 2.

eward City Code ~ 2.30.111, Subsection A., is
read as follows:
2.30 Terms of office. vacancies. A.
The eigh at large members of the community hospital
board s 11 be appointed for three-year terms expiring on
the thO d Monday in October of each year; provided that
the te s of initial appointments shall be staggered so
that s nearly as possible a pro rata number of members
shal be appointed each year. At the first regular
cou cil meeting following the regular city election in
Oc ober, the city council representative to the board
s all be appointed to serve a one-year term expiring on
e Monday following the next regular city election.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days
following its enactment.
