CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
ORDINANCE NO. 93-05
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING SCC f 15.10.140B, SPECIFIC
DEFINITIONS, PLANNING AND LAND USE REGULATIONS, TO
INCORPORATE A SENTENCE PERTAINING TO BUILDING HEIGHT
THAT WAS INADVERTENTLY OMITTED
WHEREAS, in 1988, the Seward City Code was recodified by the city attorney;
and
WHEREAS, it was recently discovered by the Community Development Director
that a sentence regarding building height had been inadvertently omitted from
Ordinance 626 when the city assumed zoning powers from the Kenai Peninsula Borough
and adopted Title 15 of the City Code on November 6, 1989;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. Section 15.10.140B., Specific Definitions, Building Height is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Building height means the vertical distance
above a reference datum measured to the highest point of the
coping of a flat roof or to the deck line of a mansard roof or
to the average height of the highest gable of a pitched or
hipped roof. The reference datum shall be selected by either
of the following, whichever yields the greater height of
building: ...
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment.
ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this
8th day of March, 1993.
