CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
ORDINANCE NO. 93-08
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING SEWARD CITY CODE
SECTION 15.10.230, SPECIAL SETBACKS
WHEREAS, the current zoning code establishes special setbacks within the Central
Business District and the Industrial District where they abut residential districts; and
WHEREAS, the original intent of the zoning code was to require these special
setbacks where the two districts abut along a property line rather than along a public
right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of this ordinance to clarify the zoning code to prevent
misunderstandings as to its interpretation;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. Section 15.10.230 of the Seward City Code is hereby amended to read
as follows:
15.10.230 Special setbacks-CB and I districts.
A. Central business district. Except where separated by a public right-of-
way, where the CB district abuts residential districts, a minimum setback equal to
that required of the abutting district s1u1.11 be required.
B. Industrial district. Where industrial (I) districts abut residential
districts, a minimum setback of ten feet s1u1.11 be required.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment.
ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this
10th day of May, 1993.
