CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
ORDINANCE NO. 93-12
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING THE HARBOR PARKING
CODE, SEWARD CITY CODE TITLE 11
WHEREAS, on March 22,1993, the Seward City Council approved Resolution No.
93-030, adopting the recommendations of the Small Boat Harbor Parking Committeej and
WHEREAS, implementation of these recommendations requires several
amendments to the Harbor Parking Code in Title 11 of the Seward City Codej
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. Section 11.15.215 of the Seward City Code is hereby amended to read
as follows:
11.15.125 Seward boat harbor parking.
A. Short-tenn parking areas. Parking is pennitted in the area designated
for short-tenn parking for a period not to exceed two hours in duration. Short-term
parking areas shall be defined as the street parking along Fourth Avenue not
designated as loading zones, bus stops or trolley stops and shall include designated
handicapped parking areas.
B. Intennediate tenn parking areas. Parking is pennitted in areas
designated for intennediate tenn parking for a period not to exceed four (4) hours
in duration. These time restrictions will also apply to designated handicapped
parking areas. Intennediate tenn parking area shall be defined as the parking lot
located on the east side of Fourth Avenue between the D and F float fire lanes.
C. Long-tenn parking areas. Parking is pennitted in areas designated for
long-term parking for a period not to exceed three (3) days, or seventy-two (72)
continuous hours. These time restrictions will also apply to designated handicapped
parking areas within the long tenn parking area. Long term parking areas shall be
defined as the two paved parking lots located between Third and Fourth Avenues.
The south lot is between the "Fish Ditch" and South Harbor Road. The north lot
is between North Harbor Road and Port Avenue.
D. Loading zone. Parking is pennitted in the areas designated as a loading
zone for a period not to exceed thirty (30) minutes for the purpose of loading or
unloading persons and/or equipment.
E. All vehicles parked longer than the designated, posted times are subject
to impound pursuant to ~ 11.50.070.
F. Occupied vehicles or boats are not pennitted within any designated
parking area between the hours of midnight and 6:00 a.m.

G. Unattached trailers are expressly prohibited within any designated
parking area.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment.
ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this
26th day of April, 1993.
