HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd1994-013 . . . vi r' !J-- '\ CL..!L_\Ll2. - Sponsored by: Anderson Introduction Date: 02/i4/94 Public Hearing Date: 02/28/94 CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA ORDINANCE NO. 94-13 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE' CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING SEWARD CIty CODE ~ 15.1O.215,PARKING, TO PROVIDE FOR A..NNUAL PARKING ASSESSMENTS FOR HARBOR MERCHANTS WHEREAS, during the FY 1994 budget process, tfie Seward City Council budgeted revenues to be derived from paid parking; and / WHEREAS, the Parking Committee revie~ed five parking proposals submitted to the city and recommended that the City C~ncil pursue assessment fees to harbor merchants to provide the FY 1994 budgeted..revenues; and WHEREAS, the majority of harbOl:;-lJusiness owners agreed to an assessment rather than a parking fee paid by individual&-utilizing the harbor; ,I NOW, THEREFORE, THI;/CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA HEREBY ORDAINS \hat: , , / Section 1. Seward CiW Code ~ 15.10.215(A) is hereby amended to read as follows: / 15.10.215 Parking. A. E ept in the CB and OR districts, there shall be provided at the time of constru ion of a principal building or at the time of alteration, enlargement or any chan in use of any principal building, pennanently maintained off-street parking s ces for the use of occupants, employees or patrons of such building. It shall be e responsibility, jointly and severally, of the occupants and owners of the buildi g to provide and maintain said off-street parking in accordance with this ~ha er continuously during the life of the building. In the event an owner, o 'Cupant or operator of a principal building or use in the Harbor Commercial / istrict is unable to provide parking as required by this section within the confines of the property under his control, said owner, occupant or operator shall be assessed an annual fee for each required parking space not so provided. The annual assessment fee provided for in this section shall be set by resolution of the city council. Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment. . . .
