ORDINANCE NO. 94-34
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN AND
REZONING THE WATERFRONT TRACTS SITE OF THE.PROPOSED
ALASKA SEALIFE CENTER TO INSTITUTIO~AL

WHEREAS, Seward Waterfront Tracts 2-6 have been i ntified by the Seward City
Council as a site for development of the Alaska SeaLife Cente , and
WHEREAS, Tracts 2-4 are designated Central B iness District and Tracts 5-6 are
designated Park; and
WHEREAS, Tract 2 is zoned Central Busines District; Tracts 3-4, the municipal dock
and its access road are zoned Industrial; and Tracts -6 are zoned Park; and
WHEREAS, it would be proper for the
SeaLife Center to have the same land use des'

AINS that:
Section 1. e Seward Land Use Plan is hereby amended by changing the designation
of Seward Waterf t Tracts 2-4, the Municipal Dock and the access road from Central Business
District to Insti onal and Tracts 5-6 from Park to Institutional.
Secti 2. The Seward Zoning Map is hereby amended by changing Seward Waterfront
Tract 2 fro Central Business District to Institutional; Tracts 3-4, the Municipal Dock and the
access road from Industrial to Institutional; and Tracts 5-6 from Park to Institutional.

Section 3. The change to the zoning map and the amendment to the land use plan shall
be effective concurrent with the transfer of said lands to the developers of the proposed sea life
center project.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment.
