CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
ORDINANCE NO. 94-37
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING SEWARD CITY CODE
~ 5.20.050 TO PROVIDE FOR THE LEVYING OF
ASSESSMENTS BY RESOLUTION RATHER THAN BY ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the City Code currently requires approval of a resolution and later enactment
of an ordinance to levy assessments for special improvement districts; and
WHEREAS, nothing in Alaska Statutes requires that assessments be levied by ordinance;
and
WHEREAS, eliminating the requirement that the assessments be levied by ordinance
would streamline the assessment process;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. Seward City Code ~ 5.20.050 is hereby amended by deleting the word
"ordinance" and inserting the word "resolution".
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment.
ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this
loth day of October, 1994.
