ORDINANCE NO. 94-42
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING SEWARD CITY CODE
~ 3.15.060, OVERTIME '
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA HEREBY
ORDAINS that:
Section 1.
follows:
Seward City Code S 3.15.060, Section A is hereby amended to read as
3.15.060 Overtime
A. Generally. Overtime compensation will be paid to all employees
except those in probationary, regular or acting positions determined to be exempt
from the overtime requirements of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.
Overtime shall be paid at time and one-half of the employee's regular rate of pay.
1. Regular employees who are not exempt from the overtime
requirements of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and who are requested to
work over 8 hours in a day shall be paid at time and one-half for overtime
hours.
2. All employees who are not exempt from the overtime
requirements of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act shall receive overtime
compensation at time and one-half for any and all hours worked over 40 hours in
a week.
3. Unless otherwise agreed upon by the supervisor and the
employee, fulltime employees who are not exempt from the overtime requirements
of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act who are requested to work hours which
are not in their hours of regular employment shall be paid at time and one-half
for such hours worked.
4. Regular employees who are not exempt from the overtime
requirements of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and who are requested to
work on a holiday shall be paid at time and one-half for all hours worked on such
holiday in addition to holiday pay under Chapter 3.50.
Section 2. This ordinance shall apply to employee compensation for the period
commencing October 20, 1994.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment.
