CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
ORDINANCE NO. 94-43
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING SEWARD CITY CODE
~2.10.020, ORGANIZATION OF COUNCIL
WHEREAS, on October 4, 1994, the voters of the City of Seward, Alaska, approved a
proposition providing for the organization of the City Council within 30 days after the regular
election;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. Section 2.10.020 of the Seward City Code is hereby amended to read as
follows:
2.10.020 Orf!anization of council: election of vice mavor.
A. The city council shall meet and organize not later than thirty days
after each regular city election.
B. At its organizational meeting, the council shall elect one of its
members to act as vice mayor in the absence of the mayor and the mayor shall
make all appointments as required of him.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately following certification of the
October 1995 regular city election.
ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this
12th day of December, 1994.
