CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
ORDINANCE NO. 94-47
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING SEWARD CITY CODE
~4.01.035, SPECIAL ELECTIONS, AND ~4.01.045,
PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF ELECTION
WHEREAS, on October 4, 1994, the voters of the City of Seward, Alaska, approved a
proposition increasing the notice of special elections from twenty to thirty days; and
WHEREAS, the city council wishes to amend the City Code to reflect these changes in
the Charter;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. Seward City Code Section 4.01.035 is hereby amended to read as follows:
4. 01.035 Svecial elections.
The council by resolution may call a special election at any time upon at
least thirty days' notice.
Section 2. Seward City Code Section 4.01.045 is hereby amended to read as follows:
4.01.045 Publication of notice of elections.
The clerk shall publish a notice of each regular and special election at
least twice in one or more newspapers of general circulation in the city, the first
such publication to be accomplished at least thirty days prior to the election and
the notice shall be posted at two public places within the city.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect ten (l0) days following its enactment.
ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this
12th day of December, 1994.
