ORDINANCE NO. 402
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 19-4 OF THE
SEWARD CITY CODE TO AUTHORIZE THE REMOVAL OF
SNOW AND ICE FROM SIDEWALKS BY THE CITY,
AND THE CHARGING BACK OF THE COST OF REMOVAL.
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ORDAINS:
Section 1. Section 19-4 of the Seward City Code is
hereby amended to add a Section 19-4(d) which reads as follows:
"Section 19-4(d).
If snow or ice has not been removed from any
sidewalk as required by this section, then
the City may remove or arrange for the removal
of the snow or ice, without liability of
any sort on the part of the City. The cost of
such removal may be charged to any owner or
occupier of the property bordered by the sidewalk,
and shall constitute a lien on this property
un t il p aid. "
Section 2. This ordinance takes effect immediately
upon passage and approval.
