AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED
VOTERS OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, THE QUESTION OF WHETHER
THE MUNICIPAL OFFICERS SHALL BE EXEMPT FROM MAKING THE
FINANCIAL DISCLOSURES REQUIRED BY A.S. 29.50
WHEREAS, A.S. 29.50 requires financial disclosures

be made by every borough or c~ty mayor, borough assemblyman,
city councilman, school board member, elected utility board
member, city or borough manager, and member of a city or a
borough planning or zoning commission, and
WHEREAS, A.S. 39.50.145 provides that a municipality
may exempt its municipal officers from the financial disclosure
requirements if a majority of the voters voting on the question
at a general election votes to exempt its municipal officers
from these requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ORDAINS:
Section 1. The following proposition shall be sub-
mitted to the qualified voters of the City of Seward, Alaska,
for approval or rejections, at the next regular city election:
Proposition: A.S. 39.50 preserytly requires
that the city manager, mayor, city and borough
councilmen, school board members, members of
city and borough planning and zoning commissions,
and elected members of utility boards, file
written statements making certain financial
disclosures.
Shall the municipal officers of the City of
Seward be exempt from the provisions of A.S. 39.50,
and no financial disclosures required of them?
Yes - For Exemption
