AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING REFUSE SERVICE.
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ORDAINS:
Section 1. Section 12-2 of the Seward City Code, relating
to use of the sanitary landfill by nonresidents, is hereby repealed.
Section 2. Section 12-2 of the Seward City Code is hereby
created to read~s follows:
Sec. 12-2
Refuse Service Required.
Every person residing in or occupying a building within the
City shall use the system of refuse disposal provided in this chapter,
unless a carrier holding a valid permit from the Alaska Transportation
Commission is authorized to provide refuse collection and disposal
services in the area and the person elects to utilize the services
of that carrier. The City Manager may exempt a person from this re-
quirement if he determines that the person requires disposal on a
regular basis of refuse that the City is not capable of hauling, or
if he determines that it is in the best interests of the City not
to provide refuse service to that person.
Section 3. This ordinance takes effect on the first day
of that month beginning at least thirty (30) days from passage and
approval.
