AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12-19 OF THE SEWARD CODE OF
ORDINANCES, CHARGES.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF SEWARD ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. That the Seward City Code, Section 12-19,
Class 1, is hereby repealed and reenacted to read as
follows:
Class 1. Businesses, including dentists, physicians
and clinics:

Offices (waste paper only) $2.50 per month, weekly
collection.
SECTION 2. That the Seward City Code, Section 12-19,
Class 2, is hereby repealed and reenacted to read as
follows:
Class 2.
Weekly Collection
Residences $4.75 per month.
Resident pack-out service $5.90 per month (can
must be easily accessible and within a reasonalbe dis-
tance from the alley, street, or utility easement at
the discretion of the garbage contractor).
Apartments (more than two units having common
cans) $4.35 per month for each unit on individual
billing; $4.10 per month for each unit for single
(landlord) billing and central pickup. Pack-out
service $1.15 additional per unit. Pack-out service
provided at the discretion of the garbage contractor.
SECTION 3. That the Seward City Code, Section 12-19,
Class 3, is hereby repealed and reenacted to read as
follows:
Class 3. Special Services
In the event the City or the Contractor is requested
to enter the customers property and/or their premises to
remove garbage, except pack-out service, which is a
residential service only, such service may be performed
and the charge shall be twenty-five percent (25%) over
the regular rate.
SECTION 4. That the Seward City Code, Section 12-19,
Class 5, is hereby repealed and reenacted to read as
follows:
Class 5. Municipal Service
The Municipal Service rate shall be thirty cents (30~)
per can.

SECTION 5. That the Seward City Code Section 12-19, Class 6, is
hereby repealed to read as follows:
Class 6. Time and equipment rate.
Services provided which are not covered elsewhere for
garbage, rubbish or waste removal, shall be charged at the
basic rate of twenty-seven dollars ($27.00) per hour straight
time, forty dollars fifty cents ($40.50) overtime, for equip-
ment and one man, and for each additional man straight time
thirteen dollars and fifty cents ($13.50) overtime twenty
dollars and seventy-five cents ($20.75). The minimum charge
that can be made under the time and equipment rate is for
one half hour.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days
after passage and approval.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City
of Seward, Alaska, this 8 day of December
