HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd1976-427 r' ATTACHED TO AND MADE A PART OF THE MINUTES OF THE SEWARD CITY COUNCIL - PAGE 113 VOLUME 17 THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA ORDINANCE NO. 427 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING AND RE-ENACTING SECTION 5-3 OF THE SEWARD CITY CODE RELATING TO THE HARBOR COMMISSION, ITS MEMBERSHIP, AND OPERATIONS. THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ORDAINS: Section 1. Section 5-3 of the Seward City Code is hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as follows: Sec. 5-3. Harbor Commission--Created; Composition; Qualification and Appointment of Members; Quorum. A Harbor Commission is hereby created. The Harbor Commission shall consist of seven members, all of whom shall reside in the Seward area, and who shall be nominated by the Mayor and con- firmed by the City Council. Four members of the Commission shall be a quorum for the transaction of business, except that, in the absence of a quorum, any number less than a quorum may adjourn the meeting to a later date. The affirmative votes of at least four members of the Commission shall be required for official action, unless a larger majority is required by law. All meetings and records of the Commission shall be open to the public. The Commission shall keep minutes of the proceedings, showing the vote of each member upon each question, and shall keep records of any other of its official actions, all of which shall be immediately filed in the office of the City Clerk and shall be a public record. Section 2. This ordinance takes effect immediately upon passage and approval.
