ORDINANCE NO. 376, Amended
AN ORDIANANCE CONCERNING MINORS AND ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGE":;

WHEREAS, the existing Ordinance does not fully cover
the pr'Jblf'JTls of minoI's regardin( alcoholic beverages, and,
~HEREAS, the State of Alaska has enacted Chapter 245
of the Session Laws of Alaska, 1970, which lowers the age of
majority for certain purposes to nineteen (19), and which became
effective on September 25, 1970.
hOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF SEWARD ORDAINS:
Jectlon 1. That Chapter 3 of the City of Seward
Code of Laws is amended to substitute the phrase "nineteen years"
for the phrase .1 twenty-one years II wherever 1 t appears the rein.
3ection 2. That a new Code Section, Section 3-15,
is created which reads as follows:
Sec. 3-15 Possession by minors prohibited.
No person under the age of nineteen years shall
attempt to purchase or otherwise secure, purchase
or otherwise secure, consume, or have in his
possession any alcoholic beverage.
3ection 3. That this ordinance shall take effect
on the 5th day of April, 1971.

OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this 22nd day of March , 1971.
