HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd1963-319 r POLLOCK, JOSEPHSON a BRADLEY ATTORNEYS AT LAW FOURTH AVENUE BUILDING SUITES 1.8 326 "H" STREET ANCHORAGE, ALASKA BROADWAY 2.3242 BROADWAY 7.0401 CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA ORDINANCE NO. 319 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2.000 (BUILDINGS) OF THE SEWARD GENERAL CODE OF ORDINANCES, BY ADDING THERETO SECTIONS 2.300 AND 2.301 RELATING TO AN ELECTRIC CODE. The City of Seward, Alaska, ordains: That section 2.000 (BUILDINGS) of the Seward General code of Ordinances be amended by adding the following sections: Section 2.300 ELECTRIC CODE The National Electric Code, as recommended and ap- proved by the National Board of Fire Underwriters, the National Fire Protection Association, and the American Standard Association, in its latest edition and as latest amended, is hereby deSignated and shall be known as the Electric Code for the City of Seward, Alaska, and shall constitute the laws o~ the City of seward relating to electrical regulation. Although not pub- lished in full in this ordinance, all of the provisions of said National Electric Code shall be and are hereby adopted by reference to the same extent as if set forth in full herein, except to the extent that the said National Electric Code shall be in conflict with this ordinance or any relevant ordinance later adopted, in which case the provisions of ~he ordinance shall prevail 'fj;(vJ flP The City Clerk-.~....~~ is directed to keep on file at least three copies of the National Electric Code in its latest edition together with any and all amend- ments thereto, for public use, inspection and examina- tion, so long as the provisions thereof remain in force. Section 2.301 PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION (a) It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, remove, improve, convert, demolish or equip any - 1 - , I" 'I POLLOCK, JOSEPHSON So BRADLEY , ATTORNEYS AT LAW 1 FOURTH AVENUE BUILDING SUITES 1.6 i 326 "H" STREET ANCHORAGE,ALASKA BRoADWAY 2.3242 BROADWAY 7.0401 building or structure in the City, or cause or permit the same to be done, contrary to or in violation of any of the provisions of the National Electric code adopted and incorporated as the Seward Electric Code by Section 2.300 of the Seward General Code of Ordinances. (b) Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of the said City of Seward Electric code shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and each such person, firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which any violation of any of the provisi s of the said City of Seward Electric Code is committed, continued or permitted, and upon conviction of any such offense, such person, firm or corporation shall be punished by a fine of not more than Three Hundred Dollar ($300.00), or by imprisonment of such convicted person or persons for not more than thirty (30) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Publication of this ordinance shall be made by posting a copy hereof on the City Hall Bulletin Board for a period of ten (10) days following its passage and approval.
