CITY OF SEWARD, AIASKA
AN ORDmANCE AMENDING SECTION 10.304 (RATES) OF THE SEWARD GENERAL CODE
OF ORDlNANCES BY ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION 10.,304 (RATES) CREATING
NEW RATES FOR THE SALE OF ELECTRICAL SERVICE BY THE CITY OF SEWARD,
AIASKA, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
The City of seward, Alaska, ordains a
'1'bat Section 10.304 (RATES) of the Seward General Code of Ordinances
be amended bY' the repeal of the provisions of the existing section 10.,304
and the reenacting of a new Section 10.304 (RATES) with provision for the
effective date thereof:
Section 10.304 Rates
The service rates and charges to be made and collected for services
of the Seward Electric System and the classifications thereof are as
follows:
Schedule "A" Domestic
$6.00 for first ,30 KWH or less per month
9~ per KWH for next 70 KWH
4~ per KWH for next 200 KWH
,3 ~ per KWH for all over 300 KWH
Where any-service in this schedule is being provided to a commerciallY'
operated apartment house, which is herebY' defined as an operation of not
less than four apartments contained within the same structure, and the
tenant discontinues service, but the owner of the premises desires a
continuance of service in order that any such apartment may be demonstrated
to prospective tenants, the service shall be extended to such owner at the
rate of $2.00 per month where no energy is actuallY' consmned, provided,
however, that where any energy is consumed, it shall be charged for on
the basis and at the rates shown in the schedule.
Definition: One familY' dewlling used as a residence only. Single
phase service for lighting, cooking and single phase motors incindental
to domestic appliances. Demand load not to exceed five horsepower.
Schedule llAA" Domestic All Electric
$12.00 for first 100 KWH or less per month

Schedule "B" COIlIIIIercial
)12.00 for first 4D KwH or less per month
$. per KWH tor next 360 KWH
5. per KWH for next 500 KWH
3, per KWH for allover 900 KWH
Definitions Lighting, cooking, appliances and motors in professional,
mercantile, industrial and other establishments not classed in Schedule
"A" or "AA".
Schedule "C" Power am Government
A minimum charge of $lO.OO per I/lOnth.
5f per KWH up to 10,000 KWH
4. per KWH next 10,000 KWH
3, per KWH fa:' all in excess of 20,000 KW'H
Definition: EligibilitY' for this class of service requires a minimum
Connected load ot 50 Horsepower.
Service Outside City LimitS:
To alll:d.11ings for service outside the corporate limits of the City
there shall be added as a surcharge an amoult. equal to 10% of the total
amount billed.
The total amount billed shall be computed at the rates set torth in
the abc:5ve schedules except that the tollOl4ng initial rates shall be
substituted tor those shown in the applicable schedule:

Schedule "A" Domestic
$8.00 for the first 30 KWA or less per year.
(Except in Forest Acres the Minimum shall be $7.00 for the first
30 KWH or less per month)
Schedule "AA" Domestic All Electric
$14.00 for the first 100 KWH or less per month.
(Except in Forest Acres the Minimum shall be $13.00 for the first
100 KWH or less per month)
Schedule "B" Commercial
$12.00 for the first 40 KWH or less per month.
The effective date tor the rates set out herein shall be the first
billing date follaw1nC the final adoption of this ordinance.
Publication of this ordinance shall be made by posting a coPY' hereof
on the City Hall Bulletin Board for a period of ten (10) daY'S tollowing
its passage and approval.

Passed and approved by the CitY' Council of the CitY' of Seward,
Alaska, on the 15th daY' of July, 1963.
