REPRESENTATION ON BOROUGH ASSEMBLY, ELECTION, TERM) OF THE SE'iWID GENQAL CODE 0' ORl)!MNCES, TO PROVIDE FOR A SECOND COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE ON THE BORO\JGH ASSEMBLY. Tbe City of Seward, Alaska, ordains: That Section 1.102.1 (Couq:U Representatian On Boroulh Assembly, Election, Term) of the Seward General Cafe of Ordinances be and is h4reby repealed and 1''' placed by the following section 1.121,1 constituted by sub-sections (A) to (E) (\ "I-C. (.). ,\ .~,lc< I 1. inclusive: Ll, ( I' Section 1.102_1 Co_uncll Re,presentation On Borouah Assembly. Election. Term. (A) The twQ (2) representatives of tbe City of Seward on the Borough Assembly shall be elected from among the members of the Council by a majority vote of the Council. The term of such persons elected shall be for one (1) year, or until the Council organization meeting following the next succeeding General Municipal Election, whichever shall first occur, at which time the Council shall again elect by a majority vote of the Council two (2) members to serve on the norouah Assembly for a one (1) year term. tn) A first alternate, 4 second alternate, and a third alternate to the City Representatives Cn tbe Borough Assembly shall be elected by the Council from among its Dembers for the same concUrrent term as the elected City representatives on the Dorough Assembly. The first alternate may serve in case of the temporary absence of either of the elected representatives; the second alternate lDl!Iy sarve in the case of the temporary absence of either of the elected re~resentatives, if the first alternate is not available or capable of 8erVing~ and the third alternate IlIBY serve in case of the temporary absence of either of the elected representatives, in the event that the first and second alternates are not available or capable of serving. (C) In the event of a vacancy of the office of a City representative of the Borough Assembly, the Council shall elect from its membership within fifteen (15) days a succeBsor who shall serve the remainder of the one-year term of the City representative who.. office became vacant. t , I i -' .. Publication of this ordinance shall be made by posting a copy hereof on the City Hall Bulletin Board for a period of ten (10) days follOWing its passage and approval.
