CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 98-131
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING AWARD OF THE HARBOR UTILITY BOAT
RE-ENGINE AND RE-RIG CONTRACT TO ALASKA MINING AND
DIVING SUPPLY, INCORPORATED
WHEREAS, the Harbor Utility Boat engines are over ten years old, maintenance costs have
increased and reliability has decreased; and
WHEREAS, the present outboard engines do not comply with emission standards; and
WHEREAS, the harbor has advertised for replacement and re-rigging the utility boat and
received three proposals; and
WHEREAS, funds for the replacement engines have been budgeted and approved in the
Harbor Enterprise FY99 budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Alaska Mining and
Diving Supply, Incorporated to provide and install outboard engines in the Harbor Utility Boat for
a total cost not-to-exceed $22,841.65.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 23 day
of November, 1998.
