AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE AND OCCUP"NCY OF TH1I.ILER~t HOUSE THAILERS,
TRUCKS OR AUTOMOBILES AS DWELLINGS, \.ITHIN THB COHPOR11.TE LIMITS OF THE
CITY O~ SEWARD, ALASKA.
WHEREAS, Subsection 17 of Section 2383, Compiled Laws of Alaska, 1933,
authorizes the City Council liTo take such other action by ordinance, resol-
ution or otherwise as may be ~n.cessary to protect and preserve the lives,
the health, the safety and the well being of the people of the City, and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Seward hereby declare that an emergency
existe and that action is rnecessary by the Ordinance to protect the health
and ..llebelng of the people of Seward by prohibiting tLe use and occupancy
of Trailers, House Trailers, Trucks or Auto~obi1es as dwellings within the
Corporate Limits of the City of Seward
NOW THEREFORE be it ordained by the Common Coun~il of the City of Seward
Alaska
Section 1. Violation of this Ordinance will be punishable by a fine of
Twenty Five Dollars ~25.00). E~ch continued day of violation of this
Ordinance will constitute A separAte offense.
Section 2. Enforcement of this Ordinance will be by the City Police.
Seetion 3. Trailers, House Trailers, Trucks or ~u~omobiles, within the
Corporate Limits of the City of Seward now being used as dwelling!! must be
removed from within the Corporate Li~its,within 60 days of the effective
date of this Ordinance.
Section 4. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this
Ordinance is held to be invalid, the decision sha 11 not affect the validity
or meaning of the remaining portions of this OrdinAnce. The City Council
declares that it would have passed this Ordtn8nce and each section, sub-
section, sentence, clause or phrase therof irrespective of th~ fact that
enyo08e or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases be
declared invalid.
ALL O~DINANCES or p8rts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are
hereby repealed.
THIS ORDINAclCE shall be 1n full force and effect from and after the~~ay
of April 1952.
AN BMERGENCY is hereby declared to exist ~nd this Ordinance shall take
effect immediately upon its passage and approval.
PASSED by the Common Council of the City of Seward, alaska, this 21st day
of ADril, 1952.
