RESOLUTION NO. 98-132
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AMENDING THE WHARFAGE RATE FOR UNPROCESSED
FRESH FISH IN THE CITY OF SEWARD PORT AND HARBOR TARIFF.
WHEREAS, the Port and Harbor Tariff was approved by the City Council and took
effect January 1, 1994; and
WHEREAS, the Port and Harbor Tariffhas been amended adjusting various fees and
definitions from time to time, with the last such amendment made in 1996; and
WHEREAS, the Administration has determined that the wharfage rate charged for
unprocessed fresh fish should be reviewed to determine what an appropriate rate may be for
unprocessed fresh fish; and
WHEREAS, until such rate can be determined, the Administration recommends reducing
the rate for "unprocessed fresh fish" from $35.00/ton to $3.00/ton, the rate currently established
for freight not otherwise specified (N.O.S.); and
WHEREAS, the $3.00/ton rate will continue until further action by the City Council to
establish an appropriate and reasonable rate after reviewing pertinent rate information.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Port and Harbor Tariff wharfage rate for incoming unprocessed fish is
hereby amended to read, "$3.00 per ton for unprocessed fresh fish."
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect ten (10) days from adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this
23rd day of November, 1998.
