RESOLUTION NO. 98-143
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING A SPECIAL EVENTS PERMIT FOR THE 1999
SEWARD POLAR BEAR JUMP OFF FESTIVAL, INC.
WHEREAS, Ordinance 92-12 provides that solicitation of funds or sales on city property
is prohibited unless specifically authorized by resolution of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Seward Polar Bear JumpoffFestival will be held in Seward January 15-17,
1999; and
WHEREAS, the Seward Polar Bear JumpoffFestival, Inc., has requested authorization to
utilize city property on January 16, 1999, to allow non-profit organizations to conduct special events
during the 14th Annual Seward Polar Bear JumpoffFestival;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Seward Polar Bear JumpoffFestival, Inc. is authorized to utilize city property
to allow non-profit organizations to conduct special events for January 16, 1999, and a special events
permit is approved.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 14 day
of December, 1998.
