An ordinance providing for the improvement of Fifth Avenue
in the town of ~eward.Alaska .by laying a sidewalk on a part
thereof and to tax two thirds of the cost thereof to abuting
property.

SECTION ( 1 ) That Fifth Avenue in the town of Seward,in the
Territory of Alaska be improved by constructing a sidewalk on
the East side thereof between the North Uargin of Washington
Street and the scuth Margin of Ada~s Street in said town of Seward.
SECTION ( 2 ) That said sidewalk shall be constructed of

native lumber and in accordanoe with the plans and specifioations
of the City Engineer of said town of Seward and under his supre-
vision and according to his instructions and the lumber to be
used must be inspected and approved by him.
SECTION ( 3 ) That said construction shall be done by contraot
the contraotors to furnish all labor and material and lay the
sarLe aooording to the established grade of the street.
That the oost of constructing said sidewalk shall be assertained
and two thirds thereof shall be appor~ione and taxed to the abuting
property affected thereby and collected as other taxes on realestate
is colleoted,and the amount so taxed a~anst the abuting property
shall be a lien thereon until paid as is provided by law.

BE IT 0RDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL 0F THE 1'O';N OF
SEWARD IN TH~ TERRITORY OF ALASKA.
SECTION (1) That 'l<'Hth Avenup. in the town of Seward, in the
Territory of Alaaka be improved by oonstructing a sidewalk on
the East side thereof bet~een the North Margin of ~aahington
Street and the south Margin of Adams Street in said town of Seward.
SECTION ( 2 ~ That said sidewalk shall be constructed of
native lumber and in aocordance with the plans and speoifications
of the City Engineer cf said town of Seward and. under his supre-
vision and according to hie instructions and the lumber to be
used must be inspected and approved by him.
SECTION ( 3) That said construction shall be done by contraot;
