AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A MUNICIPAL GARBAGE DUMP,
PLACING THE CONTROL AND MANAGEMENT OF SUCH DUMP UNDER THE COMMITTEE
ON STREET AND IMPROVEMENTS, ESTABLISHING RULES AIID REGULATIONS
FOR SUCH GARBAGE DUMP AND FIXING THE PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF
THE SAME AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAIlmD BY THE COMMON COill1CIL OF THE TO~N OF
SEWARD, ALASKA.
1. That all ashes, debris, rubbish and garbage from the
Town of Seward shall be dumped at the north end of Third Avenue
on the beaoh within the area enolosed for that purpose. Such
place shall be designated as the Municipal Garbage Dump.
2. That the control and management of the Municipal Garbage
Dump shall be under the jurisdiction of the Committee on Streets
and Improvements of this Common Council.
3. That said Committee on ~treets and Improvements shall
by signs and notices placed on said dump fix the place and manner
of dumping ashes, debris, rubbish and garbage from time to time
and shall by such signs and notices control and manage the manner
and method of handling the ashes, debris, rubbish and garbage from
the Town of Seward so that said Garbage Dump shall be as orderly
and sanitary as possible.
4. That any person dwnping ashes, debris, rubbish and garbage
at any point other than at the Municipal Garbage Dump or shall
violate or disregard any notice or nottBs placed on said Municipal
Garbage Dump by the Committee on Streets and Improvements in

accordance with Ordina~ce shal11be fined not less than Ten Dollars
and not more than $100.00.
Passed under a suspension of the rules this 6th day of
July, 1925.
