AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATE OF COMPENSATION TO BE PAID BY
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, TO OFFICERS APPOINTED BY THE
COlmON COUNCIL OF SAID CITY FOR THE TERM ENDING APRIL lOth,
1929, OR UNTIL THEIR SUCCESSORS ARE APPOINTED AND ~UALIFIED,
AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKAl
Section 1.
That the compensation to be paid the
Municipal Officers of the City of Seward, Alaska. for the
term ending April lOth. "1929, or until the successors of such
officers are appointed and qualified, is hereby fixed and
established by the terms hereinafter contained in this
Ordinance, which compensation shall be neither increased
nor diminished during the continuance in office of such
officers nor shall said officers be entitled to receive in
any form or shape any other or additional compensation from
said city.
Sec. 2. The
Municipal Clerk

shall receive a monthly
salary at the rate of
per month.
Sec. 3.
The Municipal Magistrate shall receive a

monthly salary at the rate of $ ~D per month.
Sec. 4.
The Municipal Assessor shall receive a
monthly salary at the rate of $25~\ - per month.

Sec. 5. The Municipal Attorney shall receive a
monthly salary at the rate of $~~
per month.
Sec. 6.
The Municipal Health Officer shall receive
a monthly salary at the rate of $~er month.
Sec. 7.
The Municipal Treasurer shall receive a
yearly salary at the rate of $~
per annum.
Sec. 8.
The Chief of the Fire Department shall
reoeive a monthly salary at the rate of $7~
per month.

Sec. 9.
The Chief of the Police shall receive a

monthly salary at the rate of $/~(),~ ----per month.
See. 10.
Each of the salaries herein provided for
shall be paid out of the General Fund of the City of Seward
and shall be paid monthly.
The Common Council shall at its first meeting in
each month approve and order paid the sa.laries of all of the
above named officers for the preceeding month and proper
warrant shall be drawn on the Treasurer for the payment of
the same.
Sec. 11.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Sec. 12.
An Emergency is hereby declared to exist and
this Ordinance shall take effect iwnediately upon its passage
and approval.
