CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 98-148
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE A
DICTAPHONE DIGITAL AUDIO LOGGING RECORDER FOR THE E-911
SYSTEM WITHIN THE SEWARD POLICE DISPATCH AREA.
WHEREAS, at the July 27, 1998 City Council meeting, Resolution 98-091 was unanimously
approved authorizing the City Manager to accept a $29,980 Municipal Matching Grant for 911
Equipment replacement from the State of Alaska and to appropriate funds; and
WHEREAS, in Resolution 98-091, the City Council also appropriated $35,505 to the 911
Equipment Replacement Projects Fund, account number 651-510-5930, of which $29,980 was
appropriated from the State of Alaska Grant revenues, account number 651-6510-4680-0200 and
$5,526 which was appropriated in the FY-99 budget from the General Fund.
WHEREAS, the City Council has formally accepted the grant and appropriated the money
to the 911 Equipment Replacement Capital Projects fund; and
WHEREAS, Dictaphone, Inc, from Portland, Oregon submitted the lowest and most
responsive bid to provide a Dictaphone 16 Channel "Guardian" Digital Audio Logging recorder,
delivered to, and installed at the Seward Police Department for the price of$25,036.45; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council authorizes the City Manager to purchase a Dictaphone
"Guardian" Digital Audio Tape Logging recorder from Dictaphone Inc. for $25,036.45, delivered
to Seward and installed at the Police Department.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe city of Seward, Alaska, this 14 day
of December, 1998.
